This Privacy Policy explains how Steeplechase, LLC. (“we”, “us”) collects and uses information on prettyluna.com and in Vanessa’s letters by email. Steeplechase, LLC., 2139 N University Dr PMB 3035, Coral Springs, FL 33071.
This site and its letters are for adults 21 and over only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you believe someone under 21 has signed up, contact us and we will delete their information.
What we collect
- Your email address and first name, which you give us on the signup form.
- Your consent record. When you sign up and again when you confirm, we record the date and time, the page address (URL) where you signed up, which form you used, the exact wording of the checkbox you ticked, your IP address, and your browser’s user agent. This is our proof that you asked to receive the letters.
- Choices you make. If you pick a door or a mood on this page, or tap a choice inside a letter, we save that choice so the next letter can follow it.
- What you write back. If you reply to a letter or answer one of Vanessa’s questions, we keep what you send so the letters can remember it.
- Each time you sign up, confirm, or open a link in one of our letters, we record your IP address and the country it comes from. We check that country again before each letter is sent, to decide whether your letters include an audio version, which we offer only in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and France. Double opt-in
Nothing is sent to you until you confirm. After you sign up, we send one confirmation email. Your first letter is sent only after you tap the button in that email. Your confirmation link does not expire. If a link ever does not work, the page lets you ask for a fresh one. Signups that are never confirmed are deleted after 30 days.
How we use your information
- To send you Vanessa’s letters, and to personalize them with your name, your choices and what you have shared.
- To create audio versions of some letters, read with your first name.
- To keep a record of your consent and your unsubscribe requests.
- To keep the service secure and prevent spam signups.
We use your email address only to send you Vanessa’s letters and messages about them. If you ever choose to become a paying member, that offer is made inside a letter and is always optional.
We never sell your data
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Who helps us run the service
We use a small number of service providers only to operate the letters: our website and email hosting providers, an email delivery service, and a voice service that turns letter text (including your first name) into audio. They process your information on our behalf and only to provide their service to us.
If you choose to become a paying member, payment is handled on a separate membership site by a third party payment processor, under their own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive or store your card number.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Unsubscribe
Every email has a one click unsubscribe link at the bottom, and supports your email app’s built in unsubscribe button. Once you unsubscribe, we stop sending you letters. We keep a record of your consent and your unsubscribe so we can honor it and show that we did.
How long we keep information
- Unconfirmed signups: deleted after 30 days.
- Audio recordings of letters: deleted after a set period.
- While you are subscribed, we keep your consent record and choices.
- After you unsubscribe, we keep the consent and unsubscribe record as proof, and remove the stored IP address from it 3 years after you unsubscribe.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. To make a request, write to us at the address below. We may need to confirm the request comes from the owner of the email address.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including signed links in our emails and restricted access to subscriber records. No system is perfectly secure.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will tell subscribers by email.
